Extravagant overwhelming love!

When you think of the word lavish, what do you think of? It’s like, more than you anyone would ever need. Like if you put salt on something, it’s different than if you lavished salt on it. Oops, way to salty. Or if you lavished frosting on a cake, well, the cake to frosting ratio might be off a bit, and your scraping it off. How about a house that is lavish. It’s an image of all the finest furniture and décor. Lavished. I john 3:1 “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us.” Ephesians 1:7 “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us..” God has given us his Love and his Grace, and he didn’t skimp. It isn’t just enough love, it’s extravagant overwhelming love. the finest love, so much love it is too much. And his grace? Well, you think you are a mess sometimes, or think about where you came from? His grace is lavished on you, it’s the finest and purest forgiveness, and there is more of it than you need. This is how God gives when he gives to us. He isn’t just giving you enough, he’s lavishing.
