Fill 'Er Up

In Ezekiel 3:3 The Lord says to a young Ezekiel, "Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you, and fill your stomach with it."  That's right; God gives Ezekiel a scroll to eat.  So Ezekiel takes a bite and finds out it tastes like sweet honey.  I wonder if that was a surprise though.  I'm thinking a scroll is probably not going to taste very good.  I'm probably not too stoked about filling my stomach with it.  Now this scroll represents God's word.  God needed to get his word inside of Ezekiel, to become part of who he was growing up to be.  So we have a scroll too,  the bible.  And for some we say, oh that's so boring to read.  And so then we don't.  But the truth is, it's not boring, it's like honey for your soul.  It is a wonderful read, full of cool stories and amazing miracles, and answers too.  So don't think of the bible as asparagus, think of it as a warm cinnamon roll, a bowl of your favorite cereal, or a piping hot fresh piece of gospel truth with warm strawberry compote.  Just talking about it makes me so hungry.  "Can I take your order" - "Yeah, I'll have a Matthew 16 with a side of Promised Land, umm.. hold the grumbling"
