That Other Guy

In every hero story there is always that other guy.  The guy who helped Spiderman on the bus, and put his mask back on.  Who was that guy?  In the bible as well, there were the followers, who when Paul was in danger, lowered him in a basket outside the city walls.  Who were they? Remember Jesus, well ya, but there was a guy who helped him carry the cross while he was being crucified.  Who was that guy? Or when Jonathan went up against a bunch of Philistines with only his armor bearer at his back, and they won the battle.  Who was that armor bearer guy?  What was his name?  Who was the guy who helped Esther get fixed up to go see the king?   He helped save a nation by helping the hero.  So was he a hero too?  Were these people heroes?  Would the story be different if Eli hadn't prayed with Hannah to have the son Samuel, who anoints King David?  Or if Rahab the prostitute hadn't hid the Israelite spies?  Lots of people want to be the hero of the story.  Maybe instead of trying to be the hero, maybe we could be that other guy.  The guy we don't really remember.  Or the girl. I may not remember you, but God sure does.
