Anchored Soul

I'm happy, I'm mad, I'm sad, I'm sorry, I'm going here, no wait I'm going there, hold on, I'm too angry to go there, so I'll do this, now I'm happy, oh man, now I made a mess.  Ya know, emotions can throw us around, they can make us do stuff we shouldn't, and the world isn't helping.  Our soul is like a boat on the open seas, up and down, tossed around, and so most will live life thrown around by feelings.  Now feelings are good, but they aren't the boss of you.  Hebrews 6:19 tells us "we have this hope as an anchor for the soul."  Now an anchor keeps the soul from being out of control.  So God give you an anchor, you can choose to drop anchor or not. The hope that anchors us is knowing that God has blessed us, and that God not only gives us promises, but that he will make good on His promise, like he did with Abraham.  It may take some patience, but remember, no matter what is going on, God has promised you some stuff in His word, so don't get all worked up.  Drop anchor and ride out the waves, maybe even do some surfing.
