Exalt God

In Joshua 3:7 "The Lord said to Joshua, "Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses." Well this may sound a bit strange. We exalt God right? Well here it says God is wanting to exalt Joshua. and why? Well, it was so the people would know that God was with him. So now let me ask this.. Is God with you? Well sure He is, if you've chosen Christ to be your Lord and savior, then God has promised to never leave you nor forsake you. God shows that you are His as He raises you up. An important balance is that Joshua did not desire to exalt himself. King David's sons tried to exalt themselves and it didn’t work. But as God is with you, and your heart is one to serve, then don't be surprised that God wants people to see that He is with you.  God wants people to know that you are His, and that He is yours. He is raising His children up as an example to the whole world. Sometimes when people get raised up they might say, ‘oh no God, I'm not worthy’, but you are worthy, Jesus made sure of that!
