Ahhh commitment. So I'm committed to helping at the church, but I'm just too tired this morning.. Or it's raining today. Oh yeah, there's a game I don't wanna miss, maybe I can get out of it? You know, the best part of a commitment is what we get out of keeping it, not what we are actually doing. It’s an opportunity to grow character. When we commit to serving and we make personal sacrifice in order to meet that commitment, well, we grow. We grow in character. Say you commit to showing up for an event, or helping Mom with the house, or you commit to a rehearsal, or project at the job, or to ushering at the church. It's those moments when we want to cancel that we have an opportunity to really grow our own personal character. When neither money nor resource, nor opportunity nor our personal feelings can keep us from doing what we have committed to do, we are acting in character. True Character is when you stay committed in full view of what may appear to be a better opportunity. And where you serve with excellence out of commitment the real reward is what happens on the inside of you, and not the service you did.
Committment involves love. When remain loving the Lord, you will remain or be committed in all that he has given you.
