Love Is In The Air

Ahh Yes, Love is in the air!  Valentines day is a perfect excuse to tell someone you care about them.  But what is love?  I don’t think the world quite has it right.  Now God is love, so He certainly knows what real love is.  I John 3:16 says "This is how we know what love is:  Jesus Christ laid down his life for us."  Ok, so here love is in action, not just words.  In the world love is about how I feel, and what I can get.  But for God so loved the world that He gave.  Real love is about others, its shown by giving of our selves.  So you get Mom a valentines day card.  Then do the dishes.  Do you want to do the dishes?  Well no.... But this is showing love.  It’s not quite laying down your life.  I don’t know that you should be willing to sacrifice yourself on the altar of the dishes, but doing the dishes is a great gesture.  Now you’re learning how to love God Style.  And whom should you get really great at loving?  Well, it should start right in your family.  Think about your brother, sister, mom, dad, husband, wife.
