Don't Throw It Away
Hebrews 10:35 God is speaking to Christians who had seen, well, better days. Some had their stuff stolen, and watched their friends thrown in jail, and maybe they were all, hey this being a Christian thing is a bit of a chore. Maybe we should try something else. But God said to them, "So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded." Well there may be a lot of stuff that is good to throw away, like temptation, addictions, or those really sugary donuts. Maybe we can chuck out spoiled milk, old homework, or totes full of stuff you ain't seen in years. But if there is one thing you don't throw away, it's your confidence. Confidence in what God can do, in what God has promised, and in who God created you to be. Confidence in winning, that sometimes you can feel like your losing, but still win. Maybe you've put your confidence in the recycle bin, or in the closet, or you've hidden your confidence under some good ole fashioned false humility, Let's get it out, wash it, iron it, and put it on. Wear it with a smile, cause according to God, your confidence is going to be richly rewarded. Say it with me... I CAN. Well that was kind of corny.
