Christ Crucified

Paul in I Corinthians 1:23 says "But we preach Christ crucified".  And all over the world at churches this weekend you might hear the same message, 2000 years later, still being preached.  Christ crucified.  He didn't just die, He was crucified. You see everything Jesus did, he did big.  His death was no exception, he undertook torture, insult, and shame, and if that wasn't enough, endured all of sin, sickness, poverty and every wicked godless deed or intention as he hung upon the cross.  And all of these evils died with him on that cross.  He took upon poverty so that we could be rich.  He took sickness to the grave that we might be whole.  He bled for our sin, and was bruised for our iniquity so that we might be called blessed and marked with a seal which is His name, and that is for anyone who will believe.  And hey, that's you, and that's me.  The key to the blessing and eternal life then is this, believe that Jesus died for you, that He rose from the dead.  Now say it outloud.  Say, "Jesus is Lord"  Paul was preaching it, I’m preaching it, and a pastor near you is going to preach it this Sunday.  Bring a friend.
